Level 0/Logical logging

I installed a new tape drive and now have the ability to do a level 0 backup at the same time continous logical log backups are running. I read that it ok to run them both at the same time. Is there any real world reason why I shouldn't? TIA Wynne Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.TC7 On NT Server Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
No, however, I suggest that you force a log change and after that log has
backed up change the logical log tape, stopping and retarting ontape -c,
when you are about to start ontape -s so you can put that tape away with
the previous backup set to use to recover to the same point as the new
archive in case it is unusable. Now you have a backup for your backup.

By "forcing a log change", do you mean, 1. stopping the logical
logging, 2. changing the logical logs tape and 3. restarting the
logging with a new tape? (Or is forcing a log change another procedure
to add to the long list of things I don't know about Informix?)
I know you said to do this down below, but it sounds like (to me) you
are talking about two different things here 1- force log change 2 -
stopping and restarting ontape -c. My fine manual, has a reference to
changing logging modes, but I don't think this is what you meant.

onmode -l
completes the current logical logfile at its current position and starts a
new one. This is so that the original logical log backup tape will have all
of the log entries from that partially filled log file when you stop ontape
a few seconds later.
