My biggest complaint about new systems that I have to work on to debug and try to "fix it" so it will run faster or better or add enhancements, is that you must ensure that your team makes the tables into a relational database with standard header files. I can't count the number of times I have come across the "junk" table which is just a melting pot table of input data records that has been patched with extra indexes to try to speed up query accesses. Get your table designs to be simple and straightforward and keep a master chart up on the wall of how the tables connect. This way all team members can visually see what information is going to where and who has table design change rights. The extra time you spend on keeping things simple in the beginning will save you hundreds of hours of work-arounds later. Kirby Ramsey Programmer/Analyst Visual Services Inc. Bloomfield Hills, MI
