RE: Read only

Corrections, it is possible at the ODBC end. Check my post. Openlink you can restrict connection from os, ip, user, application I can also stop certain queries any allow others with my own gateway. {TCP wrapper} It is based on the same package www.iiug.org "infspy". There is a slight speed penalty, do to the fact that every query must be checked for valid and the extra gateway functionality. Will post it soon. -----Original Message----- From: Balmer, Glyn [mailto:Glyn.Balmer@biccgeneral-eu.com] Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2000 10:32 AM To: 'Gregory Taane'; 'informix-list@iiug.org' Subject: RE: Read only Gregory AFAIK this isn't possible at the ODBC end, though I am willing to be corrected. How about defining a user with only SELECT permissions on the database and connecting using this userid ? Thanks Greg
