Hello All,
We are trying to sqeeze just a little more value out of our oldest DB
server. We just added 4 more processors to our HP 9000 T500
system(total of 8 now). What to I need to tune besides NUMCPUVPS? I
set it to 8. I don't think I can use affinity on this version of
HP/Informix. This is a dedicated DSS type DB server without
applications running locally. We currently run with the attached
onconfig during user query time and during data loads which happen on
the weekend. How would I tune two different onconfigs, one appropriate
for each task? Any suggestions appreciated, even if they are not
related to the additional CPUs.
TIA,
Jeff

ALso increase the ipcshm NETTYPE to 8 listeners instead of the one so
all of the CPU VPs are listening for work when they are not busy. Also
see in the release notes if your version supports NOAGE which is VERY
important in HPland.
Your RA_THRESHOLD looks HUGE how is the RA utilization ratio?
