Windows User Authentication
Posted in 2018
Hi all
I need help with user authentication with an Informix Server 12.10.FC12 on
windows 2016 server.
I wonder why I do _not_ need a windows user to connect to a database on that
informix server.
I have granted the user, let's name him "xxx", connect to the on and only
database on that informix server.
grant connect to "xxx" as informix;
The user xxx does not exist in the windows domain nor as a local user on the
windows server. My expectation was that he could _not_ connect to the
database. In spite of my expectation he _can_ connect. Without password. I ask
my: Why? BTW: I testet with SQUIRREL which uses a JDBC connection:
jdbc:informix-sqli://Windowsserver:Portnumber/databasename:INFORMIXSERVER=inform
ixservername
The configuration parameter USERMAPPING is OFF. If this parameter would be
BASIC or ADMIN than I would understand the behavior. But with USERMAPPING OFF
a regular windows account should be needed.
I never configured an Informix Server in a Windows environment, so I'm just
confused.
Is it a bug or a feature?
TIA,
Reinhard.
Nobody here who could answer my question?
