Defragmenting a cluttered dbspace.

Hello all, I recently moved several large tables from a fragmented, 15 chunk dbspace into separate dbspaces. The extent size of the old table was 16kb, so I am now left with a couple of 30% full chunks that are still highly fragmented. Since I do not possess infinite disk space to create a new dbspace for all of the data, what do you all think is a good strategy for consolidating the surplus disk space in this dbspace? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Brian Duffy bduffy@nycap.rr.com Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
If you have one of the rare versions of IDS in which onunload/onload
actually work, you could use this. Otherwise, use oncheck -pe to identify
tablespaces in little-used chunks, unload them, drop the chunks then re-load
the tables.
16Gbytes - depending upon your hardware, you could use dbexport/dbimport.

Defrag the remaining tables with: ALTER FRAGMENT...INIT IN... into the same dbspace. Art S.
