}I created a multi-threaded server application, within which I used ESQL
}statement to try to connect to the informix database. However, it
}consistently complaint about the failure to connect to the database
}server. On the other hand, if I had the same application compiled as a
}non-threaded process, everything worked fine.
}
}Question: Do I need any configuration modifications to create a
}multi-threaded server application??
}
}I used VisiBroker for C++ to generate the server application, as well as
}Informix Online Database Server Ver. 7.1 as the database server.
Unless you know otherwise, 7.1x ESQL/C is not multi-threaded and cannot
be used safely in a multi-threaded program. You need to use 7.2x ESQL/C
to get a thread-safe implementation, and that uses DCE threads (which are
a pre-cursor to Posix Threads.
