Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi everyone. Kind of a basic question here if you don't mind. I have a version
10 IDS database that takes daily onbar backups (using ISM) as well as
dbi-weekly exports. If I wanted to recreate the database on another server
(HP) that had the same OS and configuration as the original (IE: source server
= target server) is it reasonable to assume that the following general method
would work?
1-restore informix rdbms from unix backup
2-create dbspaces using onspaces
3-restore database using onbar backup
Or would it perhaps make more sense and be necessary to A) reinstall Informix
10 and B) use the dbexport to recreate both the Informix 10 engine and the
database?
Thanks
