Dear All, We have three machines A,B,C. Each has the same version of online and i-star - 5.01.UD3. All are running SCO 3,2v4,2. Each machine has its own service in /etc/services and its own setup in the sqlhosts file and hosts.equiv. If I go into ISQL and select a database on machine A from machine B it works. I can select data, add/update etc. But when I issue a close database statement I get a -408 error. If I then try any other sql statement the program returns me to the prompt without any messages. The same thing happens from machine A to C. And from machine C to A and C to B. But if I start from machine B I can access machine A and C without any problems at all. The close database statement works. This also happens in 4gl programs as well as ISQL. I have re-checked all the configurations several times. I cannot find out what is set up different on machine B to machines A and C. I checked services, sqlhost, hosts and hosts.equiv. I think the setup may be correct as I have no problem doing selects etc between any of the machines. It is only when I issue the close database statement that I have a problem. On machines A and C there are no errors in the sqlexecd log file. But on machine B it says: 25506 The sqlexecd daemon cannot accept a connection on the socket.: connection refused. But I have not any problems actually getting a connection on that machine. Anyone have any ideas about this? I cannot think of anything else to do. BTW. In the 4gl program I used a C function that calls sqlexit instead of doing a close database. This worked. So my 4gl program is okay but I still dont know what the problem is.
