However, DBD::Informix can be a bit of a pig to get loaded with HP-UX, and that may also be true of Tcl. Contact me if you need more information. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
Hi, I've had ISQLTCL extension working on HP-UX, but I've had to recompile TCL after adding in the isqltcl init lines, this works fine. The problem is that we have many customer sites, and the TCL installations are not necessarily owned by us, so I can't go recompiling them. So what I thought I would do is compile the ISQLTCL extension into a .sl so that it can then be loaded into the TCL shell at runtime. I've written many of these .sl /.so 's before and they work fine, I can even get them to work on HP the problem comes when I try and link in any of the INFORMIX ESQL C libs, although it says it links and compiles properly, it doesn't as when you try and load it it throws a "out of memory error" which I'm sure is HP throwing an absolutly random error as it does not know what to do. Any way let me know if you have any ideas, I hate HP I wish they'd let me have my SUN back! I've got ISQLTCL extension compiled on HP-UX 10.20 with a lot of pain. The major problem was, that the extension was not correctly loaded at the customer, so I had to compile the stuff on his machine to get it running. But after all it works very fine. By the way I changed a lot of the code to fit our needs, but the commands are the same. The original version was obtained per email from the suggested email-addresses as mentioned at scriptics
