Yes. In 7/8/9.xx dbschema has to do much more than it did in 5.xx. It
is a fatter
program and so slower. You could try my dbschema replacement utility,
myschema, some have reported that it is much faster than dbschema is.
Myschema
can do ALMOST everything that dbschema can (notably no -hd option) and
also
does MUCH more. Myschema is part of the package utils2_ak which is
available
from the IIUG Software Repository. Note that I am currently testing a
new release
of myschema that will be uploaded and available next week if all goes
well. It fixes
a few bugs affecting VIEWS and UNIQUE constraints. So if you get
myschema
now and like it get the update next week (the new source revision will
be at least
2.47).
