Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Arnaud Touboulic could not find the esql script for compiling .ec files on Informix 7.22, though it came with 7.11. Jonathan Leffler explained the esql script is delivered only with the ESQL/C product, so ESQL/C 7.22 was probably not installed. He corrected Art S. Kagel that Client SDK is free; Art pointed to an SDK download. Arnaud thanked the helpers.

Clarification - this word (not) is *not* required.
Client SDK is available free of charge.

2.40; version 2.50 will be released quite soon.

The esql script was only ever delivered with the ESQL/C product.
If you had it in 7.11 and not in 7.22, then it was because you
did not install ESQL/C 7.22 when you upgraded the servers.
