Hi ! I've installed IECC server agent on two hosts with IDS 7.30 FC7, and I've executed the "startsa" command like user informix. I've set the ONCONFIG environment variable to "onconfig" (is the configuration file). On Win98 client I've installed the IECC client and I set with the Setnet 32 utility the two hosts and each host with its Informix Servers. I run the sqleditor 3.00 and I connect to both Informix Servers and I can execute all of sqls I want. However, I run the IECC client and I see the two informix servers and their databases, but the icon of the servers show me that the servers are disconnect. When I try to connect them , the IECC client show me an error : "An problem with the connection to the server has been detected". If I try to connect to them with another user, the same error is showed too. I can't see the sessions, the spaces, ''' I can't remotely administer the Informix Servers.... !!! Can somebody tell me something about ???
Hi; Please refer to product defect number (106733) on tech info center on informix web site. It was a logged case for me but never fixed. While I was looking for a patch or fix I've been told from informix that it's no longer supported. Also make a search on Tech Info Center with a keyword IECC if this is not your problem. I gave up trying it.My platform as follows. DG-UX 4.0d IDS 731.FC2 Hope it helps, Alkin TEZUYSAL INFORMIX DBA Luisma Sanchez wrote: > Hi ! > > I´ve installed IECC server agent on two hosts with > IDS 7.30 FC7, and I´ve executed the "startsa" command like user informix. > I´ve set the ONCONFIG environment variable to "onconfig" (is the > configuration file). > > On Win98 client I´ve installed the IECC client and I set with the Setnet 32 > utility > the two hosts and each host with its Informix Servers. One odd thing I had found when setting up IECC (I used to teach Informix training classes, so I had to do it many times) was that the primary database server name (DBSERVERNAME in onconfig) had refer to the network connection, not the shared memory one. When the network connection was in DBSERVERALIASES, it would never see the server. I'm not really sure why it is, but you might check that in your setup and see if it helps.
