Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Michele Orcutt asked for a utility to help calculate extent sizes. Markus Holzbauer gave a dbaccess query on sysmaster sysextents counting extents per table. Dpto. Informatica suggested a first extent of (row size + index size) times number of rows, using dbschema or dbexport. Art S. Kagel pointed to IIUG repository scripts and his myschema utility in utils2_ak, which can generate extent and next sizes.

Hello.
Does anyone know of a utility that will allow assist in recalucating extent
sizes,
so I can plug in my variables and the utility will do the calcuating?
Thanks, Michele

$ dbaccess - <<EOF
DATABASE sysmaster;
SELECT dbsname, tabname, sum(size), count(*) extents
FROM sysextents WHERE dbsname NOT IN ("sysmaster", "sysutils")
AND tabname != "TBLSpace"
AND tabname[1,3] != "sys"
GROUP BY 1, 2
ORDER BY 4 DESC;
EOF
Regards
Markus

There are several sets of scripts and 4gl programs available
from the IIUG Software Repository which will do this
specifig job for you. In addition if you use my myschema
utility (a replacement for dbschema) it will automatically
generate extent and next sizes for you as an option.
Options are included to specify the growth factor. Myschema
is part of the package utils2_ak available from the
Repository.
