IPC routines in RDS?

Hi all! I'm just wondering if anyone has managed/bothered to integrate socket into some 4GL/RDS callable routines, AND whether they're willing to share it, or at least share some war stories regarding them. I wanna play around with a little data server in 4GL, so I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. Yes, there are better tools for the job, but not on THIS machine :-). Proof of concept project. Oh, btw, do RDS programs mind being forked? Against 7.x? Perhaps if the fork is between DATABASE statements?
