IIUG IDS 10 Download and Debian
Posted in 2006

Has anybody installed the linux IDS 10 IIUG download onto a Debian system ?
I converted the .rpm into .deb and installed them in the order given in the
install_rmp script.
However when I do a `oninit -iy` I get a complaint about "Invalid Serial
Number"
What have I forgotten to do ?
TIA

It sounds like $INFORMIXDIR/etc/install, which runs etc/brand, may not have
executed, or failed.

Do you Yahoo!?
Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta.

I instaled on ubuntu wich is a debian derivative.
I tryed with alien but it didn't worked.
The steps to do it was :
- Install ubuntu
- Install rpm from ubuntu (dpkg or dselect)
- Create /var/lib/rmp (the distribution didnt create it :-( )
- Link /usr/bin/rpm to /bin/rpm
- install_server
The CSDK was a little more tricky because it have a dependency from a
packet that debian dosen't have:
- Create a script /bin/rpm that contains :
-----------------------------
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/rpm --nodeps $*
-----------------------------
- installclientsdk
BTW : I used jdk 1.4 from sun not the bundled on instalation.
