Jose's message at the bottom.
Jose
have you tried running in single CPU mode with
mutex locking turned off? (Single CPU VP in
onmonitor)
Informix claim that the extra overhead in using
mutex locking between 2 CPUs is not worth using
them both.
Also, if you upgraded in situ, as opposed to
dbexport/dbimport, you might want to drop and
recreate some critical indexing. I have a hunch that
these can get tangled up in an in situ upgrade. (Even
try unloading and recreating the table. )

We are experiencing SEVERE performance
problems trying to upgrade from Online 5 to Online
7.
Online 7 runs about 400 percent slower than Online
5 up until +- 400 processes. (Confirmed by
Informix S.A).
Online 7 performance never degraded even when the
load went above 400 processes where Online 5
showed a sharp degradation.
Unfortunately for us, 400% slower is not
acceptable.
We are running an HP k200 (dual 100 mhz
processors) with about 560 Mb Memory.
We have about 260 users at any one time
(i.e) Bums in the seat).
The processors are not being over loaded, Memory
is not being grabbed, there is virtually no swapping.
Does the problem lie with Online 7.12 or with HP.
Online 5 on the same machine smokes !!!!!.
If there is ANYONE out there that can point us in
the right direction, I would be etrnally gratefull.
thanx
Jose
