Re: onbar with 7.24

I ran into this same problem when I first tested OnBar. Yes, Informix
changed the behavior of OnBar between 7.22 & 7.23. Under 7.22 it was
up to the alarm program to do a 'onbar -l' after the 'onbar -b'
completes (current log change). Under 7.23 and greater an 'onbar -b'
automatically does an 'onbar -l' at the end of the backup and the
alarm program gets fired off when the current logical log is advanced.
I solved the problem this way: my alarm script checks for a 'onbar -l'
process, if it doesn't see one running then it fires off a 'onbar -l'
otherwise the alarm script just returns.
I opened a case with Informix on this feature and they said that it's
supposed to work that way. Case closed.
