I did that. After some tweaking it worked just fine. Thank you bouth. Next question: Where do I change coding page of my databases? I want to use Unicode, 1250 or ISO-8859-2 (one of those). Unicode preferably. Also where do I change date format? Default is YYYY.MM.DD but I want DD.MM.YYYY.

The environment variable DB_LOCALE must be set prior to create the database. If DB_LOCALE is not set then database is created with en_US locale (std 8 bit ASCII). You can check the database's locale using dbaccess->database->info->nls or "select site from systables where tabid=91". If you want to use unicode (UTF-8), read the GLS manual and the release notes for IDS 9.40 The data type DATE is internally an integer. Conversion of DATE to and from text strings is cntrolled by CLIENT_LOCALE or DBDATE environment variables. To use the DD.MM.YYYY format set DBDATE="DMY4."
