Review on Report Generators

Hi, I'm looking for a _useable_ report generator running on on a Windows system while the 7.3x DS is doing its work on a sun. Is there any review on this software on the net or any magazine? The Software should support the german language (but I would give it a try if it supports 'umlauts'). Reading this newsgroup showed up serious problems on Crystal reports and I got hints on Sybase Infomaker and Informix Visionary. Or should I give this up immediately and use Excel + VBA instead? Any more hints? TIA Axel

Was just in another thread: It does all the filtering on the client side, so if you say "select * from xxx where customer=yyy" it would create a statement "select * from xxx" and filters for the customer by itself instead let the database server do it. This will kill network and performance on larger tables. Axel
