Hi, Is possible use db2 JDBC to connect to Informix ? (ifx 11.50) The db2 driver what I download is v10.1fp1_jdbc_sqlj.tar.gz I want to connectto Informix using db2 driver into sql client toolwhat don't have support to Informix, just db2. I don't want use Optim Studio becauseisn't good... and Server Studio priceis high...
You can certainly connect using DB2s DRDA protocol and the DB2 JDBC driver. You will have to configure an sqlhosts entry for drda protocol (ondrsoc IB, but look in the Administrator's Guide to be sure) on a separate port from the one used for Informix native (SQLI) protocol. That does not mean that whatever server management/admin tool from db2 you are trying to use will actually be able to do anything, however, due to the difference in schema, catalog table structure, admin tools and protocols, etc. but it's worth a try. Thanks Art , I forgot to mention before... I desire avoid include a drda listener, what I believed isn't possible. Right?
