Hello Karl.
I have migrated from sco unix to linux using dbexport and dbimport utilities,
they are slower, as you mentioned.
In order to accelerate the dimport I edited the sql script, I cut the alter
table primary key statement, specially in larger tables, first the load, and
after the alter table statement.
dbimport creates a new database, so, you must put attention in the lock mode
for every table, because dbexport script do not include the lock mode.
If you have tables in different spaces, you can edit the script, including the
dbspace for table and indexes.

Dbexport will include the IN dbspace and LOCK MODE clauses if you run it
with the "-ss" option.
