Can you back up a database using ontape ?

Is it possible to backup just a database as opposed to backing up dbspaces ? I want to only backup a database and restore it on another box. Is that even possible ?

Not with ontape. Ontape will back up an entire instance ... however, you can restore just a particular dbspace using ontape.
