onstat

Hello
after executing an onstat following message appears
in the first lines:
"Changing data structure forced command termination"
What does this mean?
Why does the Profile (as in a normal onstat) not appear and the onstat
view only shows me the sessid?
Regards
André

It means ... what it means :) ! For example, when you just start
Online, and issued "onstat", onstat tryes to access shared memory
structures for requested information. But at this moment this structers
are "under construction" - so, onstat can't tell you what's going on.

Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
Onstat reads dynamic data structures in shared memory without latching
them to avoid affecting online operations. Since many of these
structures involve links and pointers and are in a constant state of
flux it is possible that while following a set of links onstat may find
itself in a loop or a dead-end. In this case it aborts gracefully,
having giving up any hope of continuing, with the very true message:
"Changing data structure forced command termination." Running the
onstat report again usually works. Also this was more common in the
earlier 7.2x versions, you did not specify version or platform info you
naughty boy, so upgrading may alleviate the problem somewhat it that is
your situation. In the future please post version and platform
information so someone can give you a version/platform specific answer
if available. You never know when your trouble is platform specific or
version specific.
