bmc Informix Products : How good/bad are them ?

We are interested in bmc Informix products, like PATROL series (DBReorg, DBBasics, DB-Admin KM) and SQL-BackTrack. Has anyone of you had any good/bad experience using these products ? I will appreciate any kind of information. TIA, Olmedo.
Olmedo, BMC Patrol is heavy on resources and sysmaster/system tables usage (about 5 user threads running engine checks). For me, it`s better to use onprobe for alarming/monitoring. We use BMC Patrol to monitor all of our production machines and databases. We do not see a heavy resource hit for them, however, the latest release of patrol version 3.4 (AKA Patrol 2000) has been re-written and now uses less than 1% of available resources. Patrol is useful right out-of-the-box but needs some tuning of parameter thresholds to match your environment. I do not use the BMC utilities (reorg, basics, admin) but have extensively tested SQLBackTrack. While SQLBackTrack is a big winner in the Oracle/Sybase world, it is not so with Informix. SQLBackTrack still needs to call OnBar to do any backups unlike the native access it does in Oracle/Sybase. We have gotten orders of magnitude improvement with SQLBackTrack/Oracle but nothing with SQLBackTrack/Informix. You can, however, use SQLBackTrack's storage manager to replace the ISM that comes with Informix and it will also communicate with third party sm's such as Legato Networker as long as you have the SQLBackTrack OBSI modules so it does have some good points. It also presents a 'standard' interface if you have to manage multiple dbms's.
