Re: Problem with Multiple Residency

Have you tried to move ifmx2 before informix in your /etc/passwd file. May be it wouldn't work any longer. Anyway such "solutions" are a bit strange as there is no need to do them at all and it mostly helps to create confusion. As user informix is so special it seems to me a better solution to simply create a way to set the appropriate environment variables (at least INFORMIXSERVER, INFORMIXDIR and ONCONFIG) for whatever server you want to work with. I would probably set the PS1 variable as well to see at the prompt what server I was using. It's very simple to create a shell alias to either set these variables or better do the appropriate sourcing to set them.
