is there a Trace Utility in informix? (newbie)

Hi, I have a simple question for you guys. I'm working on a project that involves an informix server with IECC v3.00. I want to know which queries are being run on this server. I'm used to working with SQL Server and in SS there is a tool called Profiler (perviously called SQL Trace), is such a tool available for Informix and if so, where can I find it? Thanks for helping me out, Daniel van der Meulen the Netherlands Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Daniel,
If you know what user is running the query do an
onstat -u | grep <username>, take the session id of the query and enter
onstat -g sql <session id>
This should tell you the current sql statement being ran as well as the
previous statement.

Before you buy.
Daniel,
3 possible tools :
1) from UNIX shell
onstat -u
onstat -g sql session_id
onstat -g ses session_id
2) I-Spy
3) (if you have X Windows installed) oncockpit/onperf
Best regards,
Sergey

Refer to http://www.sqlpower.com The Zero Impact Sql Monitor will capture all SQL with its performance (network time, database server response time, end-user response time). <daniel30@my-deja.com> wrote in message news:8kk8q9$6os$1@nnrp1.deja.com... > Hi, > > I have a simple question for you guys. You can query on the sysmaster database as
follows:
select sqx_sqlstatement
from syssqexplain x, syssessions s
where s.sid = x.sqx_sessionid
and sqx_iscurrent = "Y"
and <either use:sid = nnnnn if you know the session id in
question; OR use:
username = "<username you want to look for>"
These tables hold heaps of useful stuff there's
plenty more in these two you may find handy.
Take some time to check round 'sysmaster' - the
Administrator's guide is a good start, but
there's more if you dig .....
