In this case they would have been better off backing the log files to /dev/null. Please make them understand Disaster Recovery. IBM has a wonderful article somewhere on there website about the 9 (or was it 7) levels of disaster recovery. For the neophyte (as you have) to the truly paranoid. Best of luck. P.S.
