SHMBASE

Hi folks!!
I'm trying to set up 3 instances in a huge machine.
2 of 3 instances have been online, but the third instance can't start because
there are a shared memory conflict, as showed below:
[informix@valencia01 ~]$ onstat -m
shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'ifxorizon5'
Message Log File: /informix/logs_informix/ifxorizon5/ifxorizon5.log
13:54:40 IBM Informix Dynamic Server Started.
13:54:40 Warning: The IBM IDS Growth Edition license restriction limits
13:54:40 the total shared memory size for this server to 16777216 KB.
13:54:40 The maximum allowable shared memory was reset to this size to start
the database server.
13:54:40 shmget: [EEXIST][17]: key 52584801: shared memory already exists
13:54:40 mt_shm_init: can't create resident segment
The key 52584801 belongs to the instance 2.
I've already set different values for each instance on the parameter SERVERNUM:
instance 1 = SERVERNUM 0
instance 2 = SERVERNUM 1
instance 3 = SERVERNUM 2
But the parameter SHMBASE is the same to the tree instances: SHMBASE
0x44000000L
The machine has 32GB of memory:
instance 1 = 14.7 GB
instance 2 = 11.7 GB
instance 3 will allocate nearly 4GB
How can I do to calculate SHMBASE?
Could you guys help me?
Thanks in advance,
Alberto Pessonio.
I would rather use 10,20 and 30, instead of 0,1 and 2.
Anyway, set the correct INFORMIXSERVER you want deal with, then run my
favorite command "onclean" , then try "oninit" again !
Good luck!
Frank

SHMBASE doesn't matter, it is the private address within the oninit's
address space at which to attach shared memory. Only the SERVERNUM will
affect shared memory across instances. Make sure there isn't an existing
instance with SERVERNUM 3 or that a failed startup attempt didn't leave old
shared memory segments around (use onmode -ky or onclean to remove them).

Did you look at license agreement for growth edition, especially:
1.2.2) Install Memory Allocation Limit - total of sixteen (16) Gigabytes
of memory allocated (as reflected in the SHMTOTAL tunable parameters of
the Program) to support use of all instances of the Program on a single
Install. The sum total of all SHMTOTAL parameters set within all
instances of the Program in an Install may not exceed 16 Gigabytes of
allocated memory, regardless of the amount of physical memory in the
physical server.
