I'm getting errors from oncheck that I have never seen before.
Anyone know how to fix these????? I've looked and asked around, but
haven't been able to determine anything yet.
INFORMIX-Universal Server Version 9.14.UC8
test1:~/$ oncheck -cI tesstdb1:sysobjstate
Validating indexes for testdb1:informix.sysobjstate...
Index objdesc
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 15
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 10
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 18
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 14
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 17
ERROR: Index objdesc for testdb1:informix.sysobjstate is bad.
Index objtab
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 13
ERROR: Bad bitmap value (4) for node 12
ERROR: Index objtab for testdb1:informix.sysobjstate is bad.
It's a system table, so I don't want to drop and re-create the index (at
least I think I don't).
Anyone have any thoughts (about this)?
Thanks,
Tony

Before you buy.
A bitmap value of 4 indicates a bitmap page so an index extent page with a
bitmap value of 4 would indeed be an error and probably indicates extensive
corruption or disk degradation! Take an archive immediately for safety
then plan to unload all your tables, hard test the relevant disks(s) and
recreate the database in question if not the entire server instance!
Contact tech support to see if there is a known 9.14 bug on this though
before you get as crazy as I would be. If the corruption was caused by
an engine bug, rather than by disk problems or poaching applications, they
may be able to repair the damage.
