centralized informix backup?

I have been assigned to begin a selection process for a product or suite of products that will allow us to backup Informix 5.03 (as well as all other file systems on a network of hp 9000's) to a centralized backup server residing on an IBM MVS machine. I have found several that will handle the bulk of the work but none that will allow me to backup Informix _while_it_stays_online_ except for a one that will accept piped output from tbtape. Has anyone found a more elegant method of getting this done?
