RE: ontape on hard drive - Could not write archive tape

Genti-
Informix cannot write to a directory, it needs a file or a
device. Try this, instead: Create a file in each directory that looks
like this:
-rw-rw-rw- 1 informix informix 0 May 11 18:21 backup.info
example:
$pwd
/tape
$whoami
informix
$touch backup.info
$chmod 666 backup.info
Alter your onconfig to look like this:
TAPEDEV /tape/backup.info # Tape device path
LTAPEDEV /logtape/backup.info # Log tape device path
I am assuming that you're dumping your backups to disk in order
to write them to tape with an OS backup. Be aware that if you loose the
backup disk before the tape is created, you will lose your backup.
