Why are you trying to recompile the AFCL. Just use it in your program. >>I have installed msvc version 4.2... Thats fine. >>Do I need to have version 5 installed ?? No. > >>Do any one of you have any clues ?? Yes.This is how you use the AFCL : 1 : Create a window. Set the derived from property to "uHdrWindow". 2 : Set the start-up property to true. 3 : Create a free-form Supertable on the windowand add the desired fields. 4 : Set the name of the super table to any_nameST. 5 : Set the classname property to "uHdrSuperTable" 6 : Set each of the fields classname properties supertable to "uHdrSuperField" 7 : Format the location, colours etc of the window , supertable and superfields as desired. 8 : Include the following files in the pre_header event of the window : INCLUDE "uafrwork.4gh" 9 : Include the following line of code in the constructor_extention of the window : CALL init( headerST : super_table_nameST , autoPositionST : FALSE ) Note: This line initialises the toolbar in the window. The program will compile and run without it, however there will be no toolbar. The file headerST in the above line is a required keyword. This is all that is required for the wif file. A : Create a new project. B : Inlcude the wif file for the window in the sources list. C : Include the file sample.rc , found in c:\\informix\\classes\\afcl\\etc. Note : This is required for the resource bmp files used in the afcl toolbar. Without it, each button on the toolbar will have the default informix logo. D. Choose 'Component - Modify' and select the Libraries tab. E. On the right side of ther screen where it says 'available libraries' - choose 'afcl' F. Click the add button and it will move over to the left. G. Click apply and then ok. H. Choose 'Component - Modify' and select the Attributes tab. I. Click the 'C-Code' radio button and click apply and ok (C-code runs faster - this is why I use it, but this will also compile to P-Code) J. Click build. Follow these steps and you can create a default maintenance screen for a table in minutes.
