RE: Converting from SE to Online

Dean,
You're on the right track. In fact, it sounds like the dbimport
was well on it's way. It is normal for dbimport to pause while loading
large tables, but I'm assuming it was more than that. So, here's
some things to look for:
1. Did your log files fill? Use "onstat -l" or "onstat -m" to
look for this. This is most likely your problem.
2. Did you run out of locks? Use "onstat -k" to check this.
What was the precise syntax of your dbimport command? Odds are, you
created the new database with logging. This is good, but a bit
premature. When you perform a large load, you should have logging
turned off. Then, after the load, you can go back and turn the logging
on.
Finally, once you get the load finished, don't forget to UPDATE
STATISTICS!
