Hi, I currently have an AIX 5.3 system running IDS 9.4. I wish to install IDS 11, into its own separate space, then export tables from IDS 9.4 into the 11 instance. Is it possible to run these two versions as separate instances side-by-side on the same system? Has anyone tried this? I can't find anyone who has.
Yes, you can run both (IDS 9.40 and IDS 11) instances side-by-side on the same system, as long as you are using different SERVERNUM (onconfig param). -Nilesh RANDY MONGENEL wrote on 10/10/2008 05:33:51 PM: > > Hi, > I currently have an AIX 5.3 system running IDS 9.4. Thank you! That was one variable we hadn't thought about yet. We will attempt the dual install on Monday and I'll post my results/experience.
Yes. It'll work fine. Separate dbspaces and different SERVERNUM in the ONCONFIG files. THey can share an sqlhosts file if you use the INFORMIXSQLHOSTS environment variable to point to it though, then the two instances will know about each other.
