There has been no change to the use of ROWIDs in SE, but in IDS ROWIDs can become duplicated for fragmented tables. For this reason Informix added the option of adding ROWIDS to a fragmented table, which basically adds another column. This column is unique and can be used by legacy code without having to change your code. So, as long as you don't use fragmented tables, or you use fragmented tables WITH ROWIDS, your FourGen code will work unmodified..., well barring fixing any old bugs it may make use of.
