I'm a consultant for a company (which has been acquired serveral times) who's focus has shifted from computer system implementation and support, to the web hosting, migration, and support. Our NT and UNIX engineers get $125 - $200 an hour depending on the job, but our sales staff is "encouraged" to ask for as high as they can get for whomever they bill out. Some numbers: UNIX system programming and administration: $115 - $135/hr Oracle DBA/development: $150 - $200/hr Informix DBA/development: $115 - ? (don't have too many customers) Security (firewall, intrusion detection): $175 - $250/hr Pure consulting (needs analysis/assessment): $150 - $200/hr Project management: $150 - ? (whatever the snake oil salesman can get) Anyone else? I'm in Atlanta, billing at $70/hr clearing $65 of that. Could have been making 75/hr on a 95/hr bill rate, but commute would have been 3 hours r/t. got a private e-mail to take this offline? respond to bporter@ga.prestige.net Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
