NLS - feature

We are running on Online V 7.11 UC1 We have just moved from On line V 6.00 UE1 data in our databases contain national language characters I have created database having set envir. variables DBNLS=2, COLLCHAR=1 i used datatype nchar and the problem is that i am not able to create a check constraint on nchar collumns alter table aaa add constraint (check col1 in ("national chars"))error -202 Illegall char ... in statement I have tried various combination of setting DBNLS and COLLCHAR ( i always re-created database ) it is the same the same problem is while using national chars in update , insert statement but it is possible to sort it out using variables or text (.unl) file but i cant create check constraints in different way . We do not have any problems in V6.00 or V5.01 UD1 and we are rather confused what exactly mean National language support. What differences were made as far as NLS feature between V 6.00 UE1 and V7.11 UC1 ???
