What's the best solution for an Object Orientated Report Writer???

What's the best solution for an Object Orientated Report Writer??? Scenario: see the other posting on the 600 Gigabyte Backup. The application manages the object orientated relationships IN THE APPLICATION, not the data base. The data base is INFORMIX 7.1 On-Line, and basically being used as a flat-file, with NO relational form to it. IQ Report Writer is being expected to deliver ad hoc reporting. Can a relational report writer be expected to deliver acceptable performance with the OO data model? Is there an OBJECT ORIENTATED report writer that can be glommed into the application mix, and be set up to write queries in the same context as the object orientated application? And yes Viewpoint Pro is part of the solution, but haven't fully investigated how it can be set up to reference the same classes from another vendors' classes. Thanks in advance!!!
