How old? Informix-SQL + SE or even older and Informix 3.30?

In ISQL + SE: Day 1 was 1st January 1900.
I'm not sure whether the same format was used in 3.30, but I suspect it was.
But the normal file format for a date is controlled by DBDATE, so on this
side of the Atlantic, dates normally look like 15/01/1993, whereas on your
side, they tend to look like 01/15/93. This format is interpreted sensibly
by dbload and the LOAD statement. You should look in the ESQL/C manuals
for date handling routines -- there shouldn't be any need for you to worry
about reworking the conversions.
