Infomrix replication

We are letting Informix do our replication and marking the secondary database to be read-only. We are having trouble connecting to the secondary to select from (error -329). If we fail over we can connect to the secondary. If we restore the primary, again we cannot connect to the the secondary. We must be missing something. Any thoughts??
