If you legitimately feel that duplicates are the problem or are just curious
you could search for them with the following SQL:
select column_name[s], count(*)
from table_name
group by column_name[s]
having count(*) > 1
where column_name[s] is/are the name[s] of the column[s] in your unique
index [separated by commas -- col1, col2,....].
