A user asked where to find and download IDS 2000 for Linux, having failed to locate it on Intraware. The answer given was to go to www.intraware.com, choose the "try/evaluate software" section, list vendors/products and pick IDS 2000, where a Linux port was available. Others confirmed it was there but complained that Intraware's listings were mislabelled and the archives mixed up (Linux files under NT headings, Sparc binaries under AIX), plus general griping about Informix's lack of release announcements and the Red Hat 7.30 bundling deal. No fix for the mislabelled AIX archives was recorded.

Go to intraware (www.intraware.com), click on evaluate software (try
software), there should be a list of companies and their products,
select IDS 2000 and there should be a Linux port (checked today).
It's not so terrible.
Best Regards,
Octav

When I downloaded it was _hell_. Headings was stating "Blah blah blah for NT"
and the zip-file was for Linux -it was more FUBAR than Intraware ever was...
It's not only terrible, it's stupid...
I could go on ranting about Informix not sending out info about new software,
trial versions etc. -but I won't...

Oh go ahead!
:-)
Hey did you like the way all the different components of the software release
were named the same thing except for the actual URL? Isn't that site rich?
It's enough to make you dizzy.
Intraware is proof that Informix can't do e-commerce at their own site!
You know the reason they didn't announce the download is because they
wanted to announce the deal with RedHat and the "older" engine. Imagine
if IDS.2k were announced at the same time, how silly the RedHat deal looks.
The logic is great. If I never buy RedHat Linux, I don't get 7.30, now the
"passé" engine, on a CD with a Linux distribution. Darn. I guess all I have
to do is wade through intraware for the more recent version of the engine.
That's rich! Informix, you've got your thinking caps on again.

I believe intraware has mixed up any archive.
I the aix-archive are sparc - binaries - so i believe.
Has anybody a idea in which archive the aix-binaries are ?
Linux -> WinNT
AIX -> Sparc
Now i have only 5 unknwon archives. (only aprox. 280 MB) ;-)
