No restrictions on concurrent users, just licensing issues. Server's data capacity is ~4TB with a single table limit of 32GB (on some systems 64GB on others) if the table is not partitioned (exclusive of indexes) and 4TB if the table is partitioned. > 2. does the database support two-way synchronisation? If you mean can two servers replicate transactions to each other bi-directionally, yes using Informix Enterprise Replication (one of two main replication schemes that are delivered as part of the engine). > 3. how is disaster recovery supported? (doesn't seem to be very > essential according to some product fact sheets..) Recovery is on many levels and very complete. For system crash that is recoverable the engine automatically recovers completed transactions from logs and rolls back incomplete ones at engine restart. Replication and archives permit additional recovery from more catastrophic failures. The engine supports it's own disk mirroring as well as working well with hardware and software RAID, stripe, and mirroring systems. Art S. Kagel
