FW: going rates for informix professionals
Posted in 1999
With all this discussion for going rates, where do you folks live? Rates, I would think would vary depending on what part of the U.S. or for that matter, the world, that you live in. So the question, what are the known rates and what city or area are they in? Laurie Subject: Re: going rates for informix professionals I'm a consultant for a company (which has been acquired serveral times) who's focus has shifted from computer system implementation and support, to the web hosting, migration, and support. Our NT and UNIX engineers get $125 - $200 an hour depending on the job, but our sales staff is "encouraged" to ask for as high as they can get for whomever they bill out. Some numbers: UNIX system programming and administration: $115 - $135/hr Oracle DBA/development: $150 - $200/hr Informix DBA/development: $115 - ? (don't have too many customers) Security (firewall, intrusion detection): $175 - $250/hr Pure consulting (needs analysis/assessment): $150 - $200/hr Project management: $150 - ? (whatever the snake oil salesman can get) Anyone else?
