systables which hold permissions can be found:
select tabname from systables where tabname matches "*auth*"
or tabname = "sysusers"may be a bit of here... V9.3 and bigger may have more.

table a and the dba in the meantime adds update permission, then the
current session
does not benefit from that, however it will be listed in the systabauth
(i could be wrong
here.... check the manual for it... ). When the session disconnects and
the user logs
on again, it'll benefit from the extra permission
