I received today an email from "Informix Marketing" directing me to the ICON programme webite at http://www.informixconnect.com/icon for the latest edition of the "newsletter". At the end it wished me a happy holiday and looks forward to seeing me in 2005, so I guess it's come out a little behind schedule! Nonetheless it has some interesting stuff in it, particualrly about EGL, where it tries to address that matter which seems to be causing lots of confusion "Will I be able to port by 4GL application?", and about something called Informix RunTime (I think), which looked jolly interesting, although I'd like someone else to have a look and explain what it might mean in practice. Anyway, I commend it to your attention - well worth a look. Neil P.S. As you'll see I've already forgotten some of the detail. THE most annoying thing about ICON is that it will only let you read each "newsletter" once. I just went back to check some details and was told to come back in six weeks for the next installment :-(
I'd like to have a look, Neil, I really would. What does: Welcome Back! Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14' [Microsoft][ODBC Visual FoxPro Driver]Command contains unrecognized phrase/keyword. /icon/incl_Functions.asp, line 658 Mean? It means they're not even using DB2 for this one, let alone Informix :-)
