DBspaces and IECC

I have installed IECC on an NT4 machine with a 36 gig hard drive. I have created a dbspace on the D drive that is currently 7Gig. The D drive has 24 gig of free space, but Informix is not seeing it. When I try to add space to the dbspace it tells me that there is no free space. NT can see and write to the space - why isn't Informix seeing it. Any ideas? Thanks for any thoughts!
A dbspace is a logical grouping of chunks. Chunks are physical blocks
of storage. Chunks are limited to 2GB. Since you have 7GB already
allocated, you need to create 14 2GB chunks and one 1GB chunk for your D
drive.
IECC has been phased out for some time, Informix Server Administrator
(ISA) is free and downloadable from intraware. Its all web based and
very lite/easy to install.
An alternative to using IECC or ISA is simply the old fashioned onspaces
command. Start-->Programs-->Informix-->INFORMIXSERV Dos Prompt. From
there you need to create some file names with your favorite editor on
NT. These will be your chunk names. Run onspaces which will allocate
the file size specified. Your command will look something like this:
onspaces -a dbspacename -p "d:\\chunks\\dbspacename.001" -o 0 -s2147483644
onspaces -a dbspacename -p "d:\\chunks\\dbspacename.002" -o 0 -s2147483644
onspaces -a dbspacename -p "d:\\chunks\\dbspacename.003" -o 0 -s2147483644
.....
onspaces -a dbspacename -p "d:\\chunks\\dbspacename.014" -o 0 -s2147483644
onspaces -a dbspacename -p "d:\\chunks\\dbspacename.015" -o 0 -s1073741824
Run onspaces <return> first and you will see some good usage.
Go with the onspaces approach. Then try to get a hold of ISA from
intraware.
