Alias name giving syntax error

Has anyone gotten this syntax error? select * from item release# ^ # 201: A syntax error has occurred. # I am getting this syntax error on NCR's running Online 5 with SQL 4.10.UE2 and SQL 4.12.UE1 I also get the error on AIX running Online 5 with SQL 4.12.UE1 I dont' get the error on SCO running SE 5 with DBACCESS 5.01.UD2 It appears to be connected to a table being aliased as "release". I don't think release is a reserved work.
