(sg = standout glitch) some terminals like wyse have a standout glitch, that is, they need an extra position on the screen to turn on/off options like bold. Try adding one of the following to your termcap entry: :sg#1: This tells Informix that the terminal ihas this standout glitch. :sg#0: tells informix that the glitch does not exist. One of them may work.
